This is a memoir of Randolph Brown's experiences in the Army Air Corps during World War II. It is in two sections. The first, 36.5 page section, progresses through 1942. The second, 23 page section, continues up until his discharge from service in 1945. Randolph focused on his social experiences in the Air Corps and the progress of his career. After attending law school at the University of Virginia and succeeding at the bar in 1936, he received a Second Lieutenants commission in the Reserves. He served in the Kentucky legislature in 1940. With war looming in mid-1941, Brown was called up as a Reservist, but he soon transferred to the Army Air Corps after war broke out. He served in the European theatre for most of the war, slowly rising in rank, until he achieved a Lieutenant Colonelcy by the war's end.
